St. Augustine’s College team gears up for regional clash

St. Augustine Teachers Training College, Ishiara, has unveiled new team jerseys as its student-athletes prepare to compete in the upcoming regional games set to kick off at Meru Teachers Training College.

The teams will depart on Wednesday for the three-day competition, which runs through Friday, bringing together top teacher training colleges from across the region.

At stake are regional titles and qualification slots for the National Games scheduled for April in Kisumu.

College officials say the new kits symbolize more than a visual upgrade, reflecting a renewed commitment to excellence both on and off the field.

“Our teams are not just representing the college in sport, but also embodying the values of discipline, integrity, and teamwork that define our institution,” a member of the administration noted during the unveiling.

The launch event featured a commemorative photo session, with athletes from football, volleyball, netball, and athletics showcasing the new look.

The atmosphere was marked by optimism and a strong sense of unity among the participants.

Team captains expressed confidence ahead of the competition, citing the jerseys as a morale booster.

“The new kits have lifted our spirits. As we step onto the field in Meru, we’ll be playing not just as individuals, but as one team representing St. Augustine Ishiara,” said one captain.

The regional games are expected to provide stiff competition, with institutions fielding some of their strongest squads.

However, St. Augustine TTC Ishiara remains optimistic about its chances, banking on preparation, teamwork, and determination.

The college community has rallied behind the teams, sending messages of support as the athletes set their sights on advancing to the national stage.

Updates from the competition are expected as the games unfold in Meru.
